Introduction

Kathmandu Shikshalaya (KS) is a co-educational school situated in a safe and secure locality in the heart of Kathmandu Valley-Bal Bhadra Chowk, Mid-Baneshwor, Kathmandu Metropoliton-31. The school is run by a team of professional academicians. Its motto is “Learning excellence” and is dedicated to nurturing future leaders with self-confidence, responsibility, sensitivity, and a lifelong passion for learning.

At Kathmandu Shikshalaya, children are actively involved in meaningful play, interacting with peers, teachers, materials, and the environment. Through this engagement, they construct meaning and knowledge from each experience, naturally nurturing the development of social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills.

The school places a strong emphasis on unlocking the potential of every child, and fostering a supportive environment. Teachers continually enhance their skills through training and shared learning. The focus extends beyond academic growth to encompass social and emotional well-being as integral components of a child’s development.

The curriculum for two to four-year-olds aims to develop physical, social, cognitive, spiritual and creative skills while sparking curiosity. For four to six-year-olds, the focus shifts to personal and interpersonal growth, allowing them to handle challenging situations and grow as independent individuals. First and Second Graders experience an active learning environment with multi-sensory experiences, emphasizing cognitive and behavioral strategies.

KS recognizes parents as the primary educators and works collaboratively with them. Regular interactions, school events, and shared concerns contribute to a supportive partnership between parents and teachers.
